Our Programs
The El Paso Symphony Youth Orchestras (EPSYO) was founded in the fall of 2005 to serve the talented young musicians of the Greater El Paso region. The EPSYO was, and continues to be, the largest education program of the El Paso Symphony, and serves more than 300 students from across the region throughout the year.
Concerto Competition
Annual event is open to both current EPSYO and non-EPSYO members. One (1) winner is selected to perform at the Side-by-Side concert, featuring the El Paso Symphony Youth Orchestra playing along side the El Paso Symphony Orchestra.
Chamber Music
A chamber music ensemble is a small group of musicians who perform on their instruments together, generally without a conductor. Each musician in the group is the only one on a part.

How to Apply
Please apply via our online application. The EPSYO office will get in touch with you via email to confirm your audition.
Audition Requirements
Auditions require that students prepare specific excerpt(s) listed for the orchestra for which they wish to join. Auditions will also include a one-minute solo of their choice, and scales as listed.
Membership Handbook
All aspects and rules of the program are described in detail in our handbook. Upon reading through it, members are asked to sign and date our membership and media form.
Events
The EPSYOs has four main concerts throughout a said season. Other musical events occur throughout the year and during the off-season (summer).

It is important to use this checklist before starting your application for Financial Aid with us.
Applications that are not completed in full, including supporting documents and fees, will not be reviewed by the Committee.
View Deadlines
Applications submitted after the deadline will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. There is no guarantee of an award once the main application cycle closes.
Gather Documents
Most recent Income Tax Return. Supporting documents and payment must be submitted in order to apply for an award.
