Jennifer Martinez is a violist and serves as the Orchestra Director at Lincoln Middle School in El Paso ISD. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Studies from the University of Texas at Austin where she studied viola under the tutelage of Professor Roger Myers and music education under Dr. Laurie Scott and Dr. Robert Duke.
Jennifer began viola in fifth grade and owes her inspiration to pursue music to the directors and private lesson teachers that she studied with while in public school orchestra. She is an advocate for diverse and inclusive classrooms, and access to quality music instruction for all children.
In addition, Jennifer has performed extensively in both El Paso and Austin areas through a variety of chamber music ensembles, and has taught privately since 2010. She is a registered Suzuki Method Teacher for violin and viola through the Suzuki Association of the Americas where she trained under Mark Mutter. In her spare time, Jennifer enjoys painting, graphic design, and spending time with family and friends.
